Should i attach my hard disk as a slave to another machine and then format my drive and install Windows XP again? Choosing any of them gets the blue screen with the UBV error message. I thought that may be my problem, not sure, though. I didn't install the update on Windows XP 64 bit but yet it also has the same blue screen error (that's where the error code above came from but I haven't I have a Dell tower and it doesn't have tons of files or anything. chaz It took overnight to complete the check disk, but then fixed the mbr and rebooted to the same halt screen.
I typed exit and rebooting brought up the screen to start in safe mode. This is driving me crazy. I get the same. However, I can't access the registry editor because it's a .exe file and that won't load from Ubuntu.
